OUR PRODUCTS
MTL offers authorized wholesale distribution of soft-ferrite, MPP, High Flux, XFlux®, AmoFlux®, Kool Mµ® Powder Cores for the Power conversion industry. MTL is an authorized distributor.
Powder Cores
Magnetics® powder cores are excellent as low loss inductors for switched mode power supplies (SMPS), switching regulators, and noise filters. Molypermalloy Powder cores (MPP), High Flux cores Kool Mµ® cores, and XFLUX® cores are available in a variety of shapes.
Magnetics’ powder cores can be found in a variety of applications including:
- Power factor correction (PFC)
- Boost inductors
- Output inductors
- Flyback transformers
- Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) inverters
- Battery chargers
- Other high current low ripple applications
Ferrite Cores
Magnetics® Manganese Zinc (MnZn) ferrite cores offer economical solutions for a variety of applications. Magnetics® offers nine materials ranging from 900µ to 10,000µ permeability. Magnetics® ferrites are available in a variety of industry standard sizes and shapes.
Applications include:
- High frequency power transformers
- Power inductors
- Wideband transformers
- AC-DC Converters
- Common mode chokes
- EMC filters
- Current Sensors
- DC-DC Converters
- Common Transformers
Strip Wound Cores
Magnetics® strip wound cores (more commonly referred to as Tape Wound Cores) line includes tape cores, bobbin cores and C and E cut cores made from high permeability thin strip alloys of nickel-iron or grain oriented silicon iron. These alloys are known as Orthonol®, Alloy 48, Square Permalloy 80, Supermalloy and Magnesil® and Supermendur.
Strip wound cores are used in a broad range of applications, including:
- Current transformers
- Inductors
- Magnetic amplifiers (MagAmps)
- Pulse transformers
- Output transformers
Iron Powder Cores
Iron powder as a core material has been widely used in RF applications for years. The distributed air gap properties inherent in iron powder cores also make them extremely well-suited for a variety of energy storage inductor applications. Iron powder is a cost-effective design alternative to molypermalloy powder (MPP), high flux, or sendust cores. It can also be used in place of ferrites and iron-alloy laminations requiring a gap.
